Steve Jarvis, Ralph Heimlich and Nancy Doyle represented the Ski Touring Section at PATC’s annual Open House over the Memorial Day Weekend. More than 100 members and prospective members toured PATC HQ in Vienna, VA, and viewed tables highlighting the trail club and various sections. While most folk’s minds weren’t on winter sports on a fine May afternoon, many were surprised to find out PATC even HAD a Ski Touring Section. We soon educated them. Entertainment was provided by a great singer from the Charlottesville area who volunteered and a tasty cookout of burgers, dogs, and sides was offered at a members-only cookout later in the afternoon. Well worth a few hours out of our Memorial Day weekend.
